Boots Haul – I Spent My Points!

IMG_2632If you follow me on Twitter you’ll probably know that I had around £93 worth of Boots points on my Advantage card. These have been burning a hole in my pocket and although I had planned to treat myself in the sale after Christmas I decided to treat my little sister instead.

It was my sisters 14th Birthday on the 7th December and although I’d already bought her an iPod Nano (joint Birthday and Christmas present) I decided to put a little box together of make-up essentials for her. However, I went a little crazy and ended up spending all of my points and a little bit more, oops!

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush – £9.99

My sister ordered some brushes from MUA a couple of months ago but I felt she’d benefit from having the amazing Expert Face Brush from Real Techniques. I don’t actually have this brush myself but when I was asking for recommendations on what brush to get my mum for Christmas everyone suggested this one.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge – £5.99

This isn’t pictured as I picked this up for myself, RT brushes were on a buy one get one half price offer at the time and I’d been meaning to pick this up since it was released! It is still in its packet though as I’m a little nervous to try it!

Soap and Glory Mist you Madly Mini Body Spray – £3.50

This also isn’t pictured as my sister gave me the box to photograph without it! Soap and Glory minis were on 3 for 2 so I also picked up The Daily Smooth Body Butter and The Righteous Butter Body Lotion, which were both £2.50 but I got one for free!

Essie Winter Collection 2013 Kit – £12.99

When I saw this I got a little excited and wanted to keep it for myself, however I thought my sister deserved to try some Essie polishes as they’re amazing! In this kit you get three mini polishes that are 5ml. They’re in the shades Shearling Darling, Parka Perfect and Toggle to the Top. I think these all look gorgeous and I’m sure I’ll be stealing them from time to time!

Essie Lux Duo Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Duo – £12.99

This isn’t pictured as I bought this for myself! I’m an Essie hoarder and decided that Bobbing for Baubles and Set in Stones had to be added to my collection! They’re gorgeous shades and perfect for winter! Check out this post for swatches etc!

Essie Sleek Stick Nail Stickers – 03 So Haute! – £11.99

If you bought two Essie polishes you could select a pack of nail wraps for free. I decided on this gorgeous pattern and as I’m useless with nail wraps and my sisters pretty good, I thought these would be perfect for her!

Natural Collection Blush in Pink Cloud – £1.99

When I was younger Natural Collection was a brand I loved. I still love it as the products are great for the price! They had a 3 for £5 deal on so I also picked up the Natural Collection Juicy Lips Lipgloss in Barley Sugar and the Natural Collection Eye Lines Eyeliner in Black. I think Natural Collection products are great, especially for younger girls who haven’t got as much money to spend on make-up.

Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer – £3.99

I’m a massive fan of this stuff and have bought my mum a pot too! I reviewed it here so I won’t say too much, except go and buy it!

Balmi Lip Balm in Raspberry – £2.99

I received one of these in my Boots Beauty Advent Calendar and decided my sister needed one too. I love the smell of Raspberry so picked this one up, it was also only £2.99 when they’re usually £4.99 – bargain!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze – £4.99

I jumped on the bandwagon late with this product but it’s so worth the blogger hype! I decided to pick one up for my sister and chose On and On Bronze as I think it will be a really wearable shade for her.

Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer – £4.19

Another product with a huge blogger hype I thought my sister should try out! She currently uses the Natural Collection or MUA concealer so I thought I’d spend a little more than she usually does so she can give it a whirl!

Collection Little Mix Jades Lipstick – £2.99

I thought this was a fab price for a lipstick and is also a really wearable shade for a 14 year old. I didn’t really wear lipstick until around a year ago so I thought I’d introduce my sister to lipstick without scary shades like Mac Diva!

Collection Super Size Fat Lash Mascara – £2.99

I decided to pick this mascara up as you can never have too many, especially for £2.99!

Rimmel Wake Me Up  Foundation – £8.99

I’ve fallen in love with the foundation so decided to add it to my sister’s collection. I hope she loves it as much as me, and a million other bloggers!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder £3.99

Another product that gets a lot of hype from bloggers is this Rimmel powder, having tried it myself I don’t think it’s anything amazing, but for £3.99 you can’t go wrong! I know my sister usually uses MUA or Natural Collection powder so I thought she could try a product which is a holygrail one for some bloggers!

Montagne Jeunesse Face Mask x3 – £1.00 each

I love a good face mask and thought these would be a nice addition to the box. I picked up Hot Chocolate, Passion Peel Off and Mud Pac.

Spotty Face Cloth – £1.99

I thought this would also be a nice addition to the gift box and I love the colour!

Taylor by Taylor Swift 50ml – £25

My sister has the other two Taylor Swift perfumes and is totally obsessed with her. After ringing my mum and step-dad in Boots I found that they hadn’t bought her Taylor’s latest perfume so decide to add this in too. I think this was the main reason I went over my points, but she was so happy to see it in the box! Totally worth it.

I think that’s everything, if you’ve read all of that then well done! I hope you enjoyed this haul, with a bit of a difference!

What do you usually spend your Boots points on?

Beth x

  1. Wow, you’ve done well to save that many points up! :). You got some lovely stuff tho. I’ve managed to get up to about £16 at the moment and I am just trying to keep them to build them up for when I really need something that might be a bit pricey or for presents and stuff. Gotta love Boots points though!

    Gem xx

  2. You are such a great big sister! You picked out some fabulous things for her! I cannot believe how expensive stuff is in the UK – maybe because of the exchange rate 😦

Thanks for reading! :)
