I’m partial to trying new beauty products now and again, so when I noticed a proper make-up stand in Poundland with products that didn’t look that bad I couldn’t leave without picking some up… call it curiosity.
Packaging-wise I quite like it, the only one I’d say looks as cheap as it is, is the lipstick. I picked up the darkest one and it’s a decent shade. Having swatched it, it’s actually quite pigmented and a ‘classic’ red lip shade. The true test will be the staying power and whether you need to re-apply in 5 times every hour!
The next thing that caught my eye was Take A Brow. The packaging is quite sleek and not dissimilar to something on the shelves in Boots. I tried this on the back of my hand once I got it home and it seemed quite harsh, I’m not sure how easy this will be to apply but I’ll be giving it a go.
I tried some of the Elegant Touch nails, the ones that you don’t need glue for (review here), so thought I’d try some from this range. I’ll admit that the pattern isn’t great, but there weren’t many different options, but I’m still keen to see how long these will last.
Over the past few months I’ve really fallen in love highlighters, and whilst I have a couple that I love, trying another won’t hurt. I also used to use an MUA one that was really good, so going along the lines of cheap highlighters, I thought I’d give this a go. It isn’t the most pigmented thing I’ve ever tried, but it is really pretty so I’m looking forward to trying this over the next few days.
Lastly we have a pressed powder in the shade translucent. I picked this up mainly because I use MAC Blot Powder on a daily basis and it’s an expensive habit. I’d much rather spend less of a product as boring as a face powder!
Have you tried anything from this range? What do you think of the packaging?
