Can you tell it has been payday? It’s very rare these days that I allow myself to do one of the typical ‘only go in for hair dye and walk out with no money left in the bank’ trips, especially as I have rent and petrol to pay… oh I’m so old.
But, I did just go for hair dye as I’m getting a bit bored of my dodgy ombre. £62.02 later I walked out of there with instant post-purchase guilt. I definitely shouldn’t have done that after paying some of my holiday off AND buying all of this the day before.
Oh well, I have things I *needed* so life is great.
Starting with the one thing I went in for, I picked up the Garnier Nutrisse Creme Permanent Hair Dye. I’ve tried this before and found it to be decent, I’ve gone for the shade ‘Pure Chocolate.’ I won’t lie, I chose it because its called that. These were on buy one get on half price which was handy as I need two to ensure my full head of hair is covered anyway.
I decided I needed pressed powder and as there were no translucent powders left on the Rimmel counter (where I usually pick one up), I tried the others until I found one. I’ve never tried anything from Max Factor before but it was 3 for 2 across the range. I went for the Creme Puff Pressed Powder in Translucent and as I’d heard loads about the FaceFinity All Day Primer I decided I’d give that a go too. As I’m running out of mascara, I decided to try a new one and went for the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara, haven’t a clue what this is like but thought I’d give it a go.
I’m always being told by my friend Zara at work that I need a lip balm. I am prone to cold sores so she’s like the lip balm police when I can feel one appearing. I decided to pick one up to shut her up, and this Blistex Intensive Moisturiser should do the job and will be a permanent fixture on my desk.
I’m rubbish at contouring so I spoke to Lily from Almost Couture (contour queen) and she recommended the Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour. This was £19, so the most expensive item on my list, but I had just been paid so nothing was stopping me. I’m really looking forward to using this, so expect a review soon!
Lastly as the Collection Speedy Highlighter was down to £3.99 I decided to give it a try, especially as I didn’t want to fork out another £19 for the Clinique one.
What have you bought lately?
